  • 1 lb broccoli (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 5 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1/2 tablespoon ginger (minced)
  • 2 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Marinate the thinly sliced flank steak with baking soda, apple vinegar, soy sauce, white pepper, water, and cornstarch for at least 15 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the ingredients for the stir-fry sauce: soy sauces, apple vinegar, sugar, chicken broth, and cornstarch.
  3. Boil broccoli in salted water for 1-2 minutes until bright green; drain and set aside.
  4. Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat and sear the marinated beef until browned on both sides; remove from wok.
  5. In the same wok, sauté garlic and ginger briefly before adding boiled broccoli. Toss in cooked beef with stir-fry sauce; cook until thickened.
  6. Drizzle with toasted sesame oil before serving over rice or noodles.
