  • 2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 3/4 cups (345 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup (150 g) light brown sugar, packed
  • 2/3 cup (130 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 egg, plus 1 egg yolk, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. For the brownie cookie dough, cream together unsalted butter and light brown sugar until fluffy. Mix in one egg and vanilla, then fold in dry ingredients and chocolate chips.
  3. For the chocolate chip cookie dough, cream cold cubed butter with sugars, then add eggs and vanilla. Gradually mix in dry ingredients followed by chocolate chips.
  4. Use a cookie scoop to portion both doughs into balls, slightly larger for cookie dough. Press one brownie ball and one cookie ball together before placing on sheets.
