  • 10 slices turkey bacon (diced)
  • 1 yellow onion (finely diced)
  • 1/2 green bell pepper (finely diced)
  • 54 oz can beef and beans (or 4 (15.5 oz each) cans)
  • 4 Tbsp ketchup
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 2 tsp dry mustard

Instructions

  1. Cook the diced turkey bacon in a skillet until halfway done; set aside to drain.
  2. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  3. Sauté onion and green bell pepper in turkey bacon grease over medium heat for about five minutes.
  4. Combine sautéed vegetables with remaining ingredients in the skillet; simmer for one minute.
  5. Grease a baking dish and pour in the bean mixture; top with reserved turkey bacon.
  6. Bake for two to three hours depending on desired thickness.
  7. Let stand for five minutes before serving.
