  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar for filling
  • Additional cinnamon-sugar mixture for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mash the bananas and whisk in melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  4. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat together cream cheese, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla for the filling until smooth.
  6. Layer half of the banana batter in the loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over it and spread the cream cheese filling on top. Add remaining banana batter and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon-sugar.
  7. Use a knife to gently swirl through the batter.
  8. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean (some cream cheese is okay).
  9. Let cool for about ten minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
