  • 34 cups confectioner’s sugar (sifted)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 teaspoons cherry extract or 23 tablespoons maraschino cherry juice
  • 23 tablespoons almond milk or cream
  • 12 drops pink food gel
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla extract.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until combined.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 12 minutes until lightly golden around the edges. Cool completely before frosting.
  5. For the cherry buttercream frosting, beat softened butter with sifted confectioner’s sugar and a pinch of salt until creamy. Mix in cherry extract and almond milk to achieve desired consistency before frosting the cooled bars.
