  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup shredded sweetened coconut

Instructions

  1. Prepare the brownie batter by combining the brownie mix, eggs, water, cocoa powder, instant coffee, and vegetable oil in a mixing bowl. Mix until smooth.
  2. Pour the batter into an 8×8-inch baking pan and bake according to package instructions or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
  3. For the frosting, melt light brown sugar, granulated sugar, butter, and evaporated milk in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the egg yolk until fully combined and bring to a low boil while stirring constantly until thickened (about 3-4 minutes).
