  • 12 Tbs. mild chili powder
  • 2 lbs. ground beef (ground round or ground sirloin)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 4 oz. spaghetti or angel hair pasta, broken into thirds
  • 1 15 oz. can chili beans, undrained
  • 1 46 oz. can tomato juice
  • 1 Tbs. granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. each kosher salt and pepper
  • Shredded cheddar, corn chips, and sour cream, for garnishing as desired

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the diced onions until the beef is cooked through.
  2. Stir in mild chili powder, kosher salt, pepper, and sugar for seasoning.
  3. Add chili beans (undrained) and tomato juice to the pot; mix well.
  4. Cook spaghetti in a separate pot according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  5. Bring the chili mixture to a simmer; reduce heat and let it cook for 20 minutes.
  6. Serve hot chili over spaghetti, garnished with shredded cheddar cheese, corn chips, and sour cream if desired.
