  • 1 can (4 oz) diced green chilies
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnishes: chopped cilantro, lime wedges

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef until cooked through. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Add diced onion and sauté until softened, about 3–4 minutes.
  3. Stir in chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add pinto beans, diced tomatoes with green chilies, diced green chilies, and beef broth. Mix well.
  5. Bring to a boil; then reduce heat to low and let simmer covered for about 30 minutes.
