Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs beef chuck, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons cumin powder
  • 2 teaspoons coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and prepare the beef by cutting it into cubes, chopping the onion finely, mincing the garlic, and grating the ginger.
  2. In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until translucent (about 5 minutes). Then add minced garlic and grated ginger; cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Increase heat to medium-high and add beef chunks to sear them until browned on all sides (approximately 8–10 minutes).
  4. Mix in spices: paprika, cumin powder, coriander powder, cinnamon along with white vinegar and sugar. Stir well to coat the beef evenly.
  5. Reduce heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer gently for about 1.5 to 2 hours until the beef is tender. Stir occasionally and add water if necessary.
