  • 10 tbsp butter
  • 1 1/2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp espresso powder (optional)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 package candy eyes
  • 20 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp heavy cream, to thin

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9 x 9 inch cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter with dark chocolate chips until smooth. Stir in sugar and allow to cool slightly.
  3. Beat eggs until frothy and mix with the cooled chocolate mixture along with vanilla extract.
  4. Add flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt; mix until combined. Fold in remaining chocolate chips.
  5. Spread batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean with moist crumbs.
  6. Let cool before dipping each brownie in melted semi-sweet chocolate mixed with coconut oil for coating.
  7. Decorate with icing for 'bandages' and attach candy eyes before serving.
