  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips
  • Red food coloring (a few drops)
  • For whipped cream: 1 cup heavy whipping cream, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1 tbsp fine granulated sugar
  • For sugar blood: ½ cup light corn syrup, ½ cup water, 1 cup fine granulated sugar, red gel food coloring

Instructions

  1. Prepare the whipped cream by combining heavy cream, vanilla extract, and sugar in a mixing bowl. Whip until stiff peaks form and set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, mix whole milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, chopped white chocolate, and mini chocolate chips. Heat over medium-low until melted and simmering; avoid boiling.
  3. Add a few drops of red food coloring and stir well.
  4. Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and top with prepared whipped cream.
  5. For the sugar blood: Combine corn syrup, water, and sugar in a small saucepan. Heat until it reaches 300°F on a candy thermometer without stirring. Remove from heat and mix in red gel food coloring. Dip glass rims for decoration.
