  • 2 ½ cups diced celery
  • 2 ½ cups diced onion
  • ½ cup mustard
  • ½ cup vinegar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 28 ounces catsup
  • 60 chicken hamburger buns
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. In a large fry pan, brown the ground beef in three batches. During the first batch, add one-third of the diced onions and celery along with flour.
  2. Transfer the browned mixture to an 8-quart soup pot and repeat with remaining beef, onions, and celery until cooked.
  3. Combine all browned beef mixtures in the pot with mustard, vinegar, brown sugar, catsup, and water.
  4. Simmer on low heat for at least 30 minutes to blend flavors.
